Portland

  • A new 30,000-square-foot multiuse outdoor space across from the Oregon Convention Center’s main lobby opened last month. The Oregon Convention Center Plaza (503.235.7575; www.oregoncc.org) is a tree-lined, grassy outdoor venue with an 11,000-square-foot paved area suitable for booth setups or open-air receptions.

  • The 465-seat Lincoln Hall (503.725.3000; www.pdx.edu/profile/visit-lincoln-hall) at Portland State University completed a $30 million renovation in September 2010. The project included the addition of a 220-seat recital hall and a studio with a capacity for 80 people.

Eugene

  • The 405,000-square-foot Matthew Knight Arena (541.346.4461; www.matthewknightarena.com) opened in January on the University of Oregon (UO) campus. The $200 million arena is home to UO Ducks basketball and volleyball, and can host large conferences, events and concerts.

  • The 149-room Hilton Garden Inn Eugene/Springfield (541.736.3000; www.hiltongardeninn.hilton.com)opened in June with 3,000 square feet of meeting space.

  • The Inn at the 5th (541.484.0383; www.innat5th.com), a 69-room boutique hotel at the Fifth Street Public Market in downtown Eugene, is expected to open by the end of the year. The property will include meeting space.

Medford

  • Rogue Community College (541.956.7500; www.roguecc.edu) plans to open a new theater in late fall.

  • Marriott Courtyard Medford Airport (541.772.5656; www.marriott.com/courtyard) recently remodeled its lobby and bistro.

Bend

  • Pronghorn (866.372.1003; www.pronghornclub.com/index.php) recently opened a new 48-suite luxury lodge, giving the public access to a development once only available to members and homeowners. Pronghorn features a number of meeting areas with mountain views as well as a 500-person event lawn. Fine-dining restaurants, a luxury spa, two world-class golf courses, a golf academy and group fly-fishing and river-rafting excursions round out the offerings.

  • The Roundabout Art Route (541.382.8048; www.roundaboutartroute.com), a collection of more than 20 pieces of public art on display in traffic circles throughout the city, will launch this month. Visitors can do the Roundabout Art Route at their own pace by picking up a map at the Bend Visitor Center. GETIT Shuttle (541.610.6103; www.getitshuttle.com) offers tours of the route daily, and the Well Traveled Fork’s (541.312.0097; www.welltraveledfork.com) Round-About Bend culinary and art tour is an option for foodies and wine connoisseurs.
