The Courtyard by Marriott in Abilene, Texas, at 4350 Ridgemont Drive, has closed — apparently temporarily — and possibly has been sold.
Managers at the hotel declined to comment Tuesday, saying only that the new owners would be arriving in town shortly.
The hotel's website showed no rooms available after September 27. A visit to the facility revealed employees doing such tasks as dismantling appliances, and carrying items into a storage area.
The property was built in the late 1990s and has 100 rooms. It took in about $658,000 over a three-month period that ended in June — ranking third among hotels in Abilene reporting sales during that period.
Lodgian Abilene LP, an ownership group based in Atlanta, has owned the building for several years.
