What are three great off-site venues that take in the beauty of the Lake Erie Shores and Islands area?
- Goodtime Lake Erie Islands Cruises offers several options for groups. Planners can reserve a boat for up to 225 people for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and take full advantage of the coastline—even going all the way down to Cleveland for a Browns game if desired. Most groups like to go out on Lake Erie, listen to live music on the boat, drink cocktails, and have a great meal while looking back at Cedar Point and the coastline. It is a great option for groups wanting to get out and see the view we have to offer.
- Paper Moon Vineyards is a winery and vineyard about 30 minutes outside of Sandusky in Vermilion. It offers a beautiful patio that overlooks the vineyard and a pond; a few hundred people can fit out there for an event. It is a really serene place for groups to go because you are getting a gorgeous view of the farmland and greenery of the Northern Ohio area. There is also a floral courtyard to view, and you can even see Lake Erie.
- Safari Adventures Animal Park is a very unique off-site venue where groups can get up close and personal with wildlife from Africa. The park is located at Kalahari Resort, and we have an outdoor bungalow area titled “Safari Landing” that has a bar shaped like Africa and can fit about 250 people for a private event. While there, planners can choose from African food specialties for their event, we can bring in live music, and attendees can walk through the zoo and experience the animals by getting a picture and even feeding them. We also often do sunrise breakfasts, where VIPs can eat on the landing with the giraffes. For more adventurous delegates, they can take part in riding our zip line, which goes over animals and the private party area.
