Nevada casinos rolling out new attractions

While massive mega-resorts and expansions are no longer on the drawing board, Nevada’s gaming industry continues to push the fun, excitement and adventure envelope, opening up new group gathering options. |
Not one but two London Eye-Millennium Wheel-type attractions are planned for the Las Vegas Strip, while last year saw the debut of the ultimate free-fall experience from the 108th floor of the Stratosphere Tower, 855 feet above the Strip. And Reno recently unveiled a downtown entertainment complex that includes the world’s tallest climbing wall—built on the exterior of a former casino hotel.

As they evolve, Native American casino resorts in the West continue to add exciting features to attract new markets, especially meetings and conventions.
The days of the new major projects coming on-line one after another appear to have gone, but there is still new development.
A San Diego area casino recently announced its first hotel project, while a November hotel opening will give Tucson, Ariz., its second casino resort. Construction is under way on a new casino resort near Flagstaff, Ariz., while a casino in Yakima, Wash., has a hotel under construction.

- Skyline Eco Adventures recently debuted the Skyline Eco Adventures Akaka Falls Zipline course. Located below Akaka Falls on Hawaii’s Big Island, Skyline Akaka Falls is the only zip-line tour in the world where guests can zip on a line that stretches over a half mile and soars over a private 250-foot waterfall.
