Florida
- The Kessler Collection named David Friederich general manager of the Grand Bohemian Orlando. Friederich is a veteran hotelier with more than 20 years of hospitality management experience, including more than 11 years at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. His additional experience includes the Four Seasons Olympic in Seattle, Cloister Hotel in Sea Island, Ga., The Westin Kierland in Scottsdale, Ariz., and most recently, Auberge Resorts.
- Turnberry Hotel Group recently appointed Douglas Hustad managing director of Turnberry Isle Miami. Hustad has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality leadership positions. For the past seven years, he was vice president/general manager of The Inn on Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C.
Louisiana
- Larry Daniels was recently named general manager of the Chateau Bourbon New Orleans Hotel. Daniels has worked with Hyatt for more than a quarter century in a variety of executive positions and managerial roles. He comes to New Orleans from Dallas, where he managed the Hyatt Regency DFW for six years.
- HRI Lodging announced this fall that Michael Green will be joining the Hilton Shreveport as general manager. Green has more than 30 years of industry experience and worked in hotels throughout North America and the Caribbean, including corporate director of food and beverage for Wyndham International. He also leads The Green Team, a hospitality industry operational and marketing services company he founded in 2004.
Texas
- The Austin CVB hired Steve Genovesi as senior vice president of sales. Genovesi comes to the Austin CVB with 26 years of hospitality sales and marketing experience. Most recently, he was vice president of sales and marketing for the Chattanooga CVB in Tennessee. He also served as director of sales, director of sales and marketing and general manager in Philadelphia, San Antonio and Atlanta, including the Atlanta Marriott Marquis during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
- Roxanna Castillo was promoted to general manager of the Residence Inn by Marriott Houston Galleria. Prior to her most recent promotion, Castillo was the general manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Sugar Land, Texas.
