ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey
Union workers at the four Atlantic City casinos owned by Caesars Entertainment Corp. overwhelmingly approved a new three-year contract that preserves their health care and pension benefits and gives them their first pay increase since 2008.
The pact covers about 5,000 cooks, bartenders, cocktail servers, housekeepers and other service workers at the Bally's, Caesars, Harrah's Resort and Showboat casinos represented by Local 54 of UNITE-HERE, the gaming industry's largest labor union.
There will be wage increases for all employees at least once during the course of the contract, with additional pay raises triggered by increases in revenue at the Caesars Entertainment casinos.
