What a privilege it was to attend the APEC conference in Honolulu last month, which featured a cast of attendees that included the presidents of the U.S., Russia and China, along with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and leaders from the other 18 major participating economies.
The most-impressive part may have been Honolulu’s preparation and execution of the high-profile affair, however.
Indeed, the destination—and Hawaii as a whole—is using the event to serve as an example of its ability to handle such a highly complex, super-secure international meeting. The state also got to show off some of the high-tech and sustainable companies operating in the Islands, too.
