Religious Cruise Meeting Tips

- Meetings cruises can be fun and purposeful. Consider them for fundraising, fellowship, education, spiritual renewal and onshore ministry.
- Plan a theme around a purpose, like shore ministry at foreign destinations or marriage enrichment. Some cruise lines even offer CSR shore opportunities, like Crystal Cruises’ “You Care, We Care Volunteerism.”
- Cruise meetings are often easier to plan than land-based alternatives because cruise ships have everything you need in the way of facilities and activities—at costs that are often lower than traditional meetings and events in hotels.

- The New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square recently unveiled part of a $39 million renovation, including an upgraded lobby with two signature restaurants and lounges. The makeover also encompasses the hotel’s nearly 2,000 guest rooms and the new 29,000-square-foot Broadway Ballroom, which seats up to 2,400 guests. More than 1,000 guest rooms have been redesigned, with the remainder to be completed by spring 2012. For smaller functions, the Liberty Room debuted in October with seating for 140 guests. - Hyatt Hotels and Resorts plans to construct the 54-story Hyatt Times Square in New York City, slated for completion in 2013. The hotel will offer 487 guest rooms, including 26 deluxe rooms and 49 suites. Amenities will include a lobby bar, restaurant, rooftop terrace, sky lounge and meeting space with an adjacent terrace.
