Daytona Beach
- The 122-room Courtyard by Marriott (386.255.3388; www.marriott.com/DABCY) has completed a $1 million-plus renovation of its guest rooms and lobby, adding lobby Wi-Fi and enclosed “media booths” with televisions and a 52-inch LCD touch screen that gives guests information about restaurants and local attractions.
- The Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort/Ocean Walk Village (386.254.8200; www.daytonahilton.com) recently upgraded all 744 of its guest rooms with flat-screen TVs and new decor and carpeting. Set directly across from the Ocean Center convention venue, the resort offers 60,000 square feet of meeting space, including two ballrooms and individual meeting rooms.
Space Coast
- The Doubletree Guest Suites Melbourne Beach Oceanfront is now the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel Melbourne Beach Oceanfront (321.723.4222; www.doubletree.com). The 207-room property offers more than 1,700 square feet of meeting space.
- New on the scene in Titusville is the Holiday Inn Titusville-Kennedy Space Center (321.383.0200; www.holidayinn.com), with 123 guest rooms, a full business center and 1,500 square feet of meeting space.
- The Brevard Zoo (321.254. 9453; www.brevardzoo.org) added Treetop Trek, a zipline adventure that also includes aerial obstacle courses, jungle bridges and tightropes. In addition, the zoo’s Nyami Nyami River Lodge, which can accommodate 300, overlooks a wildlife area, and more than once, a corporate group meeting at the zoo has been joined by a curious giraffe peering in the window, says Bonnie King, director of sales for the Space Coast Office of Tourism.
