  • Revel (609.340.0003; www.revelresorts.com) is slated to open next spring. Among the highlights of the complex’s 160,000 square feet of convention and meeting space are a 70,000-square-foot event center, a 15,000-square-foot amphitheater and 90,000 square feet of outdoor space, including a garden high above the ocean. Revel’s glass tower will offer 1,100 rooms, 46 retail shops, 12 restaurants, two nightclubs, a 22,000-square-foot spa and a 5,500-seat theater.

  • Landry’s Inc., owner of the Golden Nugget, purchased the former Trump Marina Hotel Casino (866.599.6674; www.goldennugget.com) and is implementing $150 million in upgrades. Property-wide renovations include the complete refurbishment of the hotel’s 740 guest rooms and suites, new and upgraded meeting space, including a new 17,000-square-foot ballroom, and replacing the existing restaurants with Landry’s brands, including the recently opened Chart House and Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse. Upgrades are also planned for lounges around the casino floor. The property is on the bay and operates the adjacent Farley State Marina.

  • Resorts Casino Hotel (609.344.6000; www.resortsac.com) recently finished a rebranding to a “roaring ’20s” theme and a renovation that included all 480 guest rooms in the Ocean Tower, as well as the 13,000-square-foot ballroom, other meeting rooms and the casino. Meanwhile, the Pro Bar, originally slated to be called Prohibition, opened last spring and caters to the LGBT crowd, the first of its kind to be operated by an Atlantic City Casino. The hotel also offers a new Asian casino and noodle restaurant.

  • Tropicana Casino & Resort (800.345.8767; www.tropicana.net) recently transformed some of its north tower rooms into a more luxurious experience, while also adding attractions. The hotel converted 88 guest rooms into 26 suites measuring between 450 and 2,170 square feet. The property also brought Talk of the Walk, a women’s boutique, to the Quarter at Tropicana and added an arcade with pinball, skee-ball and other games.

  • The Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel (609.344.3535; www.sheratonatlanticcity.com) recently converted unused office space into the Gallery, a 5,000-square-foot chic and artsy spot for receptions and events. Upon entering the Gallery, guests will see a large modern bar with a 3,000-gallon aquarium behind it. The area has soaring ceilings and is a longer rectangular space with angled walls and small nook-like areas for networking. Decor includes vibrant blue mosaic tiles.

  • Seaview Country Club (401.681.4133; www.seaviewgolf.com) recently updated a significant part of the historic property’s public spaces while keeping with its period style. Included in the restoration were several meeting spaces. A 27,500-square-foot outdoor patio was added, while the Bayview Ballroom corridor was turned into a 2,500-square-foot satellite location of the Noyes Museum of Art, providing an unusual meeting space. The lobby, main dining room and oval room were also updated, and future meeting space restoration is planned. Seaview is the site of an annual LPGA golf competition and is a popular site for meetings and golf outings.

  • One Atlantic (609.343.9902; www.oneatlanticevents.com), a 10,000-square-foot event venue that opened last year at the Pier Shops at Caesar’s, sits on the Boardwalk 100 yards out over the Atlantic Ocean and features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water. The space provides configurations for groups of up to 1,200 for cocktails, up to 500 for seated luncheons and dinners, and up to 750 for theater-style or classroom seating.

  • The Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority (609.348.7100; www.atlanticcitynj.com) launched a new and easier-to-navigate mobile website and enhanced the full version of its website. The new mobile site has an improved mapping feature and an all-new, easy-to-read format. The site features four main tabs to navigate through the featured categories for events, accommodations, activities and dining information. Facebook and Twitter links are available on the main page. Users who access the authority’s main website from a smart phone will automatically be sent to the new mobile site. The main website has also received a facelift. The site features a scrolling list of unique events. Social marketing links are displayed on the website’s main page, and the enhancements offer a glimpse of current events and concerts at the Atlantic City Convention Center, Boardwalk Hall and casino properties and attractions around town.
