- Last year, the Lake Lawn Resort (262.728.7950; www.lakelawnresort.com) launched a new phase of its evolution. Following a bankruptcy and subsequent closing in December of 2010, a dedicated new management group resuscitated the property and brought it back to life. The resort started reopening in sections beginning with the golf course and marina at the end of May 2011, followed by the restaurants, pools, fitness center, gift shop, and the Luxury Lodge guest rooms in July. Since fully reopening, the resort has hosted more than 25,000 overnight guests. The property boasts 283 guest units and more than 30,000 square feet of function space.
- Gage Marine (262.740.2628; www.gagemarine.com) at Williams Bay in Delavan has been reconfiguring its entire marina, which will eventually include the brand-new Pier 290 restaurant. Scheduled to open this spring, Pier 290 will function year-round and feature indoor and outdoor fireplaces.
- A nonprofit corporation, Friends of Geneva Theatre (262.248.7242; www.friendsofgenevatheatre.org), has been formed to help raise money for the restoration and remodeling of the Geneva Theater, an old vaudeville venue originally built in 1928.
