Mark and Gwenn Snider, owners of the Winnetu Oceanside Resort on Martha's Vineyard, have announced that the historic Nantucket Hotel & Resort, ‘The Nantucket,’ will welcome guests in time for summer 2012. The Nantucket has 60 rooms and marks the rebirth of the iconic Point Breeze Hotel, originally built in 1891. Nestled prominently in the heart of Nantucket town, the turn-of-the-century resort has been doubled in size and completely refurbished to look as it did at the turn of the century.
Within walking distance of the beach, bike paths, and the many stores and restaurants in the town of Nantucket, the resort will offer its signature complimentary children's program (the only hotel to do so on Nantucket), ensuring that every young guest experiences lasting memories, adventures, and new traditions.
From July through September 8, guests at The Nantucket will also have the unique opportunity to take advantage of a first-ever, two-island resort stay offered with the Winnetu on Martha's Vineyard. Guests will now have the option to vacation at both resorts, receive complimentary transfers on the islands, and enjoy reserved seating on the high-speed ferry connection between Hyannis, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Between September 8 and October 21, the inter-island service is provided by Cape Air and can be booked independently by the guest.
Open year-round, guests of The Nantucket will enjoy a wealth of seasonal activities offered on the Island, from attending the Daffodil Festival, Wine Festival, and Nantucket Film Festival in the spring to watching the cranberry bogs turn bright red in the fall and the famous Christmas Stroll in early December.
