The following facilities offer treatments that go far beyond traditional massages and facials to reach new heights—and dimensions—of pampering.
Euro Day Spa & Salon (www.euro-day-spa-salon-orlando.com) in Winter Park offers BodyTalk, a health care system that utilizes muscle biofeedback to access an individual’s “deep inner self.” This treatment addresses a variety of health issues, from back pain and headaches to allergies and infections, and aims to help synchronize and balance the body-mind connection to enhance self-healing.
Miami’s Biltmore Spa (www.biltmorehotel.com) is home to the Zen Spa Suite, a private sanctuary that surrounds guests in candlelight, soothing music and the scent of exotic oils as they enjoy a refreshment bar with fresh-cut fruit, a flat-screen TV and a private relaxation area with views of the hotel pool and golf course. Suite rentals include spa treatments; one of the most requested, says Catherine Davalle, director of spa and fitness at the property, is the Age Defier facial, which includes a unique eye treatment involving glacier crystals.
The Waldorf Astoria Spa by Guerlain (www.waldorfastoriaorlando.com/spaandfitness/spa) in Orlando—one of only three Guerlain spas in the U.S.—pampers guests with the Guerlain Imperiale Massage, a lighter-touch massage that really puts guests in state of relaxation, according to Erin Boehm, spa coordinator at the property. Another signature “Guerlain Methode” treatment is a two-hour body “redefining,” featuring body polishing, algae masks for problem areas and a Vichy rain shower.
At the Atlantic Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Spa Atlantic (www.atlantichotelfl.com) invites you to toss back a Signature Beer Treatment that starts with a citrus beer exfoliation and goes on to “cocooning” in wraps soaked with brewed-in-Florida beer, followed by time in the soaking tub, into which beer is also poured.
“You get antioxidants from the citrus as well as the beer,” notes Nichol Ohren, spa director at the resort. “It’s a nice way for us to entice men into the spa. We actually give them a beer or two while they’re soaking in the tub.”
With its range of skin-care and body treatments, The Met Day Spa & Salon (www.themetsarasota.com) in Sarasota is focused on wellness, but they also care about what covers a newly buff body.
“Our entire first floor is 6,000 square feet of fashion from leading designers around the world,” says Geoffrey Michel, owner of the spa. “For groups, we can do a little ‘what to wear to work’ or ‘dress for success’ seminar. Our concept is full-lifestyle enhancement.”
