If your group has a sweet tooth, new bakeries in the Sunshine State are coming to the rescue.

The recently opened Adonna’s Bakery and Cafe (www.adonnasbakery.com) in Pensacola, joining another location in Fort Walton Beach, offers an irresistible array of pies and cakes, including a decadent three-layer chocolate fudge cake with peanut butter icing, along with a tasty range of light fare for breakfast and lunch, including soups, sandwiches and salads.

The Pensacola cafe can seat up to 50 inside and can always add tables, says Adonna Zehr, owner of the venue.

“We’ve also had small parties and stand-up receptions for up to 70,” Zehr says.

In addition to on-site events, Zehr can bring her treats to local meeting venues and hotels.

“We do full breakfasts and buffets—any kind of food,” she says.

At the opposite end of the state in the Florida Keys, Fruitcakes! Tasty Vegan Bites (305.872.2015) is owned and operated by Jennifer DeMaria out of the Deer Run bed-and-breakfast on Big Pine Key.

“I don’t have a storefront, but I can bring platters and gift baskets to wherever the group is meeting,” she says. “If they can think it, I can do it.”

Tasty Vegan Bites serves up vegan, made-to-order baked goods that are also friendly to people with allergies. Specialties include flour-free macaroons, double chocolate brownies, oatmeal raisin cookies, cakes, dairy-free cheesecakes, biscotti, baked doughnuts and more, all delivered in eco-friendly packaging. If given enough notice, DeMaria says large orders aren’t a problem.
