Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel in downtown Las Vegas is undergoing a dramatic transformation to become the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel, scheduled for completion in fall 2012.
The new name is accompanied by extensive renovations that will deliver the fresh, energetic attitude and fun atmosphere synonymous with downtown Las Vegas. Upon completion, the D will introduce daily live entertainment; one of Vegas' only two-level casinos; 638 remodeled contemporary rooms and suites; and two high-energy bars -- the LONGBAR and the D Bar -- situated in the casino and on the Fremont Street Experience, respectively.
From Fremont Street, guests can be whisked up to the D's second-floor casino by a new escalator in front of the property. Once inside, guests will enjoy a completely new gaming experience. The first-floor modern casino will deliver the latest in slots and tables games manned by the D's playful dancing dealers. The second floor will invite guests to step back in time to enjoy vintage slots and an original Vegas vibe. Once renovations are complete, a new state-of-the-art sound system will keep the music pumping and the party rockin'. The property will remain open throughout construction and reveal elements of its new brand over the coming months.
Among ‘D’ Highlights:
Hangin' at the D. When it's time for a cold one, guests can belly up to the LONGBAR -- the longest bar in Nevada -- which stretches the length of the casino and offers an uninhibited locale to grab a drink, watch the game, place a bet or hang with friends. On Fremont Street, the new D Bar will invite guests to enjoy refreshing frozen libations and specialty cocktails as talented, trickster bartenders send bottles and glasses flying through the air to the sounds of the best bands around.
Roll D Dice. The D's two-story casino delivers an experience to suit any mood or preference. On the first-floor contemporary casino, guests will groove to today's hottest songs as they enjoy the latest in slots and table games, Dancing Dealers, 10x odds on Dice and all Blackjacks pay 3 to 2. The second-floor vintage Vegas casino will be home to numerous classic coin-operated slots and sigma derby -- a popular simulated horse-racing game. Throw-back jams reminiscent of eras past will play throughout the casino floor.
Catch Some Dzzz. Guests will enjoy newly remodeled rooms and suites with modern amenities including pillow-top mattresses, flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, and more.
Get ‘D’own. Entertainment at the D will never be in short supply. Just a few easy steps from the casino, the Fremont Street Experience features the world's biggest video screen, which towers over four neon blocks of party action including three stages and bars wherever you turn. The D will bring a constant stream of energized entertainment to the Third Street Stage just outside the casino.
Die of Laughter. "Marriage Can Be Murder," an award-winning interactive comedy and murder-mystery dinner experience, invites audience members to become a part of the show every night at 6:30 p.m. Comedian Kevin Burke, known as a comedy genius for his fast wit and hilarious exposure of psychic con-games, has guests doubled over with laughter nightly.
D-licious Eats. Offering gourmet cuisine in a comfortable setting, Don B's Steakhouse offers expertly prepared steaks, fresh seafood, lavish desserts and fine wines for an incredible price. For a more casual experience, Courtyard Grill offers fresh American cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Get 'er Done. With 8,000 square feet of space, including a ballroom and four break-out rooms, the D can accommodate groups of all sizes, whether for meetings, weddings or special events. When renovations are complete, productivity will be a breeze for event attendees as they tap into the fastest wireless Internet access currently available in Vegas' hotels.
