What’s your favorite thing about planning meetings in Brussels?
For one, it’s centrally located so it’s easy to get to from anywhere in Europe. The prices are definitely cheaper than Paris or London, and it’s an easy place to go out for drinks or good food after your meeting. Plus, because it’s a small city, you won’t lose any time in traffic jams.
Are there any special challenges to planning meetings in Brussels versus other European cities?
Just be sure to book the hotel well in advance. Because of the amount of meetings and events in Brussels, sometimes the hotels are all full.
Are there any experiences you would recommend for groups meeting in Belgium?
For a good team-building event where you need your attendees to come together under pressure, try the Nemo 33 dive center (www.nemo33.com/en), which also has meeting rooms and an on-site restaurant. I also like the “walking dinner” culinary tours offered by Vizit in Brussels (www.vizit.be/E_Brussels.html).
Do you have any advice for attendees visiting Brussels for the first time?
Take time for a walk on the Grand Place and Les Galerie de la Reine, and have a Belgium beer tasting event A La Mort Subite.
