NEW YORK
A New York City developer will likely build a 300-room hotel near the new World Trade Center, in a joint venture, for $27.9 million, according to published reports.
Bloomberg News reported that a developer plans to spend $70 million to develop the 28-story hotel, which is slated to open in 2015. The same developer already is creating a SpringHill Suites by Marriott in midtown Manhattan and converting an office building in the city’s Fashion District into a Courtyard by Marriott.
No word yet on whether the Trade Center site will be a full-service property or what brand will fly its flag at the site.
