- Heywood Hotel (512.271.5522; www.heywoodhotel.com) is Austin’s newest boutique property, located in the vibrant East Austin neighborhood.
- Omni Austin Hotel Downtown (512.476.3700; www.omnihotels.com) refurbished its top five suite floors, increasing its room count from 375 to 392, including 42 one- and three-bedroom suites. The property has 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
- DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Austin (512.478.7000; www.doubletree.hilton.com) upgraded its 188 suites to be smoke-free and added new furniture, soft goods and HDTVs. The property also has a new floor of 21 PURE rooms to accommodate guests with allergies.
- Lone Star Court (866.842.0100; www.valenciagroup.com) is a new upscale, retro motor court concept property arriving in early 2013. With 123 retro-inspired guest rooms and high-tech amenities, the property will feature Americana roadside nostalgia, live music by an outdoor fire pit, a pool, a restaurant and 4,000 square feet of interior and exterior meeting spaces.
- Circuit of the Americas (855.691.9555; www.circuitoftheamericas.com) will open in November as the world’s newest home for high performance motorsports racing. The track is the only purpose-built facility in the U.S. for Formula 1 racing and will host championship events like the U.S. Grand Prix and the V8 Supercars World Championships. COTA will be a year-round entertainment and meeting destination with event space, luxury suites, a medical facility, a training center and a live music stage.
- Travaasa (512.258.7243; www.travaasa.com/austin) is a new luxury spa resort that combines adventure, culinary programs, culture and spa experiences, along with 70 guest rooms that overlook the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve. Texas two-step classes, a mechanical riding bull, team-building exercises and harmonica lessons are among the guest activities.
