The Lion City sure isn’t lyin’ around when it comes to high-caliber hotel activity. Here’s a round-up of the top renovations and launches, both new and upcoming:
The Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore is unveiling a new Garden Wing this summer (pictured) after a USD$51.5 million renovation. The renovated Garden Wing will feature a new dining concept (Waterfall Garden Café) and Singapore’s first CHI, The Spa.
The Pan Pacific Singapore: in the midst of an extensive SGD$80 million (USD$64 million) investment for its biggest transformation in the hotel’s 25-year history (the Pan Pacific originally opened its doors in 1987.) The Pan Pacific Singapore closed in April 2012 and is scheduled to re-open part of its premises and facilities in August of this year. The new Pan Pacific Singapore is expected to be fully operational in September. The 790-room property will see guest rooms, restaurants and the lobby undergo a major transformation, with the highlight being the spectacular 360O view Pacific Club on Level 38, the topmost level of the hotel.
Late 2012 Singapore Hotel Openings
• W Singapore Sentosa Cove, www.whotels.com - W Hotels’ first ever Singapore property is scheduled to open in August 2012 and is located on an exclusive island resort area. The property will feature 240 fully-wired rooms, sensationally styled in Singapore chic; vibrant beach bars; trendy restaurants; a fully equipped SWEAT® Fitness Center and signature Bliss® Spa.
• PARKROYAL on Pickering, www.pphg.com - Opening later this year, the PARKROYAL on Pickering will offer green features such as rainwater harvesting, automatic sensors to regulate energy and water usage, and solar cells that will power landscape lighting. In total, the property will boast approximately 160,000 square feet of sky gardens, reflecting pools, waterfalls, planter terraces and green walls, extending the green areas of nearby Hong Lim Park and further encouraging bio-diversity in the city.
2013 Singapore Hotel Openings
