Panama’s relatively compact size makes it easy for groups to enjoy side trips and excursions to a variety of destinations when the meetings are done.
EcoCircuitos Panama (www.ecocircuitos.com), a local DMC, has introduced new day trips to San Blas/Kuna Yala, the semi-autonomous region where indigenous groups live by centuries-old traditions.
“This is interesting for groups and corporate markets because normally San Blas is only visited for more than one day by flying from Panama City,” says Annie Young, director and founder of EcoCircuitos Panama. “Our day trip to San Blas is by 4x4, and we can manage small groups to learn about the Kuna culture and discover this paradise.”
EcoCircuitos also offers other popular group tours and excursions, including Panama Canal transits and a “Historical and Cosmopolitan City” tour, which visits the Panama La Antigua World Heritage Site, where the city was originally founded, and Casco Viejo, the historic city center.
“The canal is one of our most important attractions,” Young says. “Today, the expansion makes it more popular and more tours are organized around the canal experience.”
It also organizes hiking in Soberania National Park with a visit to the Rainforest Discovery Center, birding tours, jungle boat tours at Gatun Lake and visits to indigenous communities at the Chagres National Park.
