What are three ways for groups to experience the historical riches of Savannah?
Historic Squares: Savannah is laid out along a grid system, and amid the cobblestone streets and hanging moss there are 22 park-like squares with fountains, statues and landscaping, many of which are available for outdoor group functions and small meetings. Each square is unique and this is truly something you can’t find anywhere else.
Historic Forts: Savannah has two historic forts: Old Fort Jackson, which saw action in the War of 1812 and the Civil War, and Fort McCallister on the Ogeechee River. Both riverfront forts have working cannons, so they will often do cannon firings during functions. The forts are ideal for team building and perfect for evening outdoor receptions.
Forsyth Park: Forsyth Park, located in the city’s Historic District, can accommodate over 10,000 people and has a cafe, visitor center and outdoor band shell and stage. In April, we hosted a large conference for Liberty Mutual Insurance in the park. They utilized the band shell and brought in The Charlie Daniels Band and other musical performers, portioning off the front area near the stage for event attendees, while opening up the back to offer a free concert to the community.
