Indianapolis

  • Construction is under way on The Alexander, A Dolce Hotel (317.624.8200; www.thealexander.com). The property is slated to open in December with 157 guest rooms, 52 extended stay suites and 22,500 square feet of meeting space.

  • The 499-room Hyatt Regency Indianapolis (317.632.1234; http://indianapolis.hyatt.com) recently completed a $20 million renovation. The property offers 35,000 square feet of function space.

  • The Omni Severin Hotel (317.634.6664; www.omnihotels.com) completed an $8 million renovation in late 2011. The 424-room hotel is connected to the Circle Centre Mall and includes 17,000 square feet of meeting space.

Minneapolis

  • The Hyatt Regency Minneapolis (612.370.1234; www.minneapolis.hyatt.com) recently completed a $25 million upgrade that included a refurbished lobby and guest rooms as well as a new restaurant. Located downtown on Nicollet Mall, the property offers 533 guest rooms and 74,000 square feet of meeting space.

  • A $20 million renovation is slated to begin this fall on the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis (612.332.6000; www.millenniumhotels.com) with a finishing date set for mid-2013. The property offers 321 guest rooms and more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space.

Lincoln

  • Plans are under way for the fall opening of a Courtyard by Marriott (402.434.5335; www.marriott.com) in Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket District. The property will have 155 guest rooms and a small boardroom for group gatherings.

  • A 105-room Hilton Garden Inn (402.434.5335; www.hilton.com) is slated to open in mid-2013. The property will have a boardroom for small meetings.

  • Construction is under way on the $180 million Pinnacle Bank Arena (402.434.5335; www.haymarketnow.com/arena) in Lincoln’s Haymarket District and is expected to open in fall 2013. The arena will house 16,500 seats and serve as the home for the University of Nebraska’s men’s and women’s basketball programs. The 450,000-square-foot facility also will be open to groups.

Kansas City

  • The Gallery (816.221.5242; www.powerandlightdistrict.com), a 9,000-square foot event space located in the Kansas City Power & Light District, opened in July for business and social events of up to 600 people.

  • The Kansas City Marriott Downtown (816.421.6800; www.marriott.com) recently unveiled its new lobby. The sprawling property has 946 guest rooms and 91,570 square feet of meeting space.

  • Kansas City’s Gate City National Bank Building will reopen this summer as the Ambassador Hotel Kansas City (816.221.5242; www.ambassadorkc.com). The hotel will offer 43 guest room and meeting space for up to 100 delegates.
