San Francisco to Get 'Social' at Big MPI Event

The San Francisco Travel Association is supporting the theme of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) World Education Congress (WEC), “Creating the New Connectivity,” by sponsoring a lively social media event prior to the conference in St. Louis, taking place July 28-31.

Throughout the conference, some 3,500 attendees will compete in the San Francisco Travel MPI WEC Goose Chase, a cell phone photo scavenger hunt presented by Geoteaming, Inc.  Using cell phones with Apple or Android operating systems, participants will complete missions by taking photos of certain items at MPI WEC.  There will be prizes for the winners and plenty of surprises such as instant prizes and new missions along the way.

“Sponsoring the social media event is a natural for us,” said San Francisco Travel EVP/Chief Customer Officer John Reyes.  “The San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley are at the epicenter of innovation and technology.  It’s practically part of our DNA.

“We’re proud to be sponsoring new innovative technology that planners can use as a team building component for their meetings and events,” Reyes added.

San Francisco Travel stands ready to assist meeting professionals with their next open meeting dates.   To begin, visit www.sanfrancisco.travel/meeting-planners or contact Lysa Lewin at llewin@sanfrancisco.travel or 415-227-2616.
