- The Attwater (401.846.7444; www.theattwater.com) reopened in June after being completely redesigned under the ownership of Lark Hotels. Deluxe amenities in each guest room and suite include designer linens and robes, iPad and iPod docking stations, Wi-Fi, beach bags and chairs, flat-panel TVs, gas burning fireplaces and a coffee bar with homemade pastries and treats that are served throughout the day.
- Vanderbilt Grace Hotel (401.846.6200; www.vanderbiltgrace.com) reopened last year and recently completed a renovation of its signature fine dining restaurant, Muse.
- The Cliffside Inn (401.847.1811; www.cliffsideinn.com), an 1876 Victorian mansion, renovated and reopened with new owners last year. The dog-friendly bed and breakfast is the former home of artist Beatrice Turner and features 16 guest rooms.
- The Hotel Viking (401.847.3300; www.hotelviking.com) unveiled a newly renovated wing last year and a brand-new veranda on historic Bellevue Avenue in June.
- The all-suite Mill Street Inn (401.849.9500; www.millstreetinn.com) completed a suite renovation in May. The former 19th century mill is located in Newport’s Historic Hill neighborhood.
- The Hyatt Regency Newport (401.851.1234; www.newport.hyatt.com) debuted a newly renovated casual patio restaurant, Pineapples on the Bay, in June.
- A newly built, island-style, 52-foot catamaran is available through Privateer Sailing Excursions (401.595.7814; www.privateernewport.com). The catamaran explores the coastal scenery of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay. Sunset sails and corporate outings are welcome.
