Randy Travis Replaced at ASAE Following DWI Arrest

Country singer Randy Travis, slated as a headline performer for ASAE’s Annual Meeting and Exposition in Dallas, has been replaced by fellow country singer Jack Ingram following an arrest in Texas.

Travis was found lying naked in a roadway outside of Tioga, Texas after crashing his vehicle, late on the evening of Tuesday, August 7. He has been charged with misdemeanor DWI and felony retaliation and obstruction, according to reports. The incident follows an arrest earlier this year in Sanger, Texas for public intoxication.

ASAE takes place August 11-14, based at the Dallas Convention Center and incorporating other venues as well. Travis had been slated to appear at ASAE’s The Classic, a special evening of dining and entertainment at the Winspear Opera House on August 13. Replacement Jack Ingram was the recipient of the 2008 Country Music Award for Best New Male Vocalist.
