In early June I mixed a little business with pleasure by traveling to one of my favorite destinations, Philadelphia, with a little sojourn “down the shore” thrown in for good measure.
There’s lots going on in Philly these days, with a massive expansion of the Pennsylvania Convention Center transforming the Center City neighborhood, as well as the new Barnes Foundation—the most awe-inspiring museum I’ve been to, as much for the insight into the eccentric, thumb-in-the-eye-of-the-establishment attitude of Albert C. Barnes as for his visionary collection and presentation ethos.
