  • Starwood announced the opening of the Sheraton Hartford South Hotel. The former Marriott property underwent a $6 million renovation and will offer 251 guest rooms and 8,600 square feet of meeting space. Within a year, the hotel plans to open a Sheraton Club Lounge, renovate the dining and bar areas and upgrade the fitness facility. Delaware

  • The lobby of Marriott’s Courtyard Newark at the University of Delaware underwent a complete renovation that added a new bistro and bar area, boarding pass printer and media pods. The 121-room Courtyard by Marriott has two function spaces, including a 2,000-square-foot meeting room and an executive boardroom. Massachusetts

  • Boston’s historic Fairmont Copley Plaza completed a $20 million renovation that included all 383 guest rooms, the grand lobby, meeting space and ballroom. The update also introduced a new 3,000-square-foot rooftop health club and eight themed suites each designed to celebrate a unique Boston landmark such as The Freedom Trail, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the JFK Library and Museum. A new dining outlet, OAK Long Bar + Kitchen also debuted. The property celebrated its centennial in August and offers 23,000 square feet of function space, including a ballroom with a 1,100-guest capacity. New York

  • The 386-room Hotel Albany completed the first phase of a $14 million renovation as it transitions to the Hilton brand. Guest rooms were updated and meeting space, which includes a 10,080-square-foot ballroom, was expanded to 33,700 square feet. The hotel is located downtown, one block from the New York State Capitol building. The entire renovation is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Ohio

  • Hilton Downtown Columbus is scheduled to open this November. The $140 million convention hotel will add 532 rooms, 48 suites and 22,800 square feet of meeting space to the city’s conference market. Ontario

  • Opened in August, the Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto occupies the first 17 floors of a new 65-story building. The hotel has 153 guest rooms and 49 suites. Approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting space opens onto a landscaped terrace on the third floor, and a 50-seat theater is available for screenings and presentations.
