Learning opportunities and lively one-on-one planner/supplier appointments have been among the highlights of Meetings Focus Live! West, which kicked off on the evening of Wednesday, August 29 at The Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, and concludes on August 31.
Educational seminars have included some provocative insights from Veteran meeting planner Joan Eisenstodt and sales executive Mike Dominguez, senior vice president of sales at MGM Resorts International. Eisenstodt co-presented the stimulating session “Ethical Negotiations—An Oxymoron?” with industry attorney Kelly Bagnall Dykema, and Dominguez offered up the eye-opening talk “Understanding Meeting Costs in the New Reality.”
Another high point was a CSR program helping provide canned food to local charities. Meetings Focus has included a CSR component in all of its Focus Live! events in order to help give back to the local communities hosting the gatherings.
Ongoing networking sessions have also been lively and well-attended, and are taking place throughout the three-day affair.
