Among SpaFinder’s (www.spafinder.com) annual top 10 spa trends list are two treatments planners may want to recommend to delegates before they book time at the spa.

  • In response to the typical business woman who wears high heels daily, spas and wellness centers are focusing on feet.

New “feet-only” med-spas include Palo Alto-based Stride Wellbeing (www.stridewellbeing.com), which offers both podiatric medical services and a menu of foot-relief spa treatments.

At Spa Montage (www.spamontage.com) locations in Beverly Hills and Laguna Beach, according to SpaFinder, there are high-heel pedicures using special oils and gels to reduce swelling.

  • In a shift from hot services like saunas and hot rock massages, spas are now introducing more chilly therapies and hot/cold contrast treatments.

In Roseville near Sacramento is the new 4,300-square-foot U.S. Cryotherapy Center (www.uscryotherapy.com), which features the full-body cold therapy experience that’s set to franchise to numerous U.S. locations.
