Gulf Coast Region

  • MGM Resorts International's Beau Rivage Resort & Casino (866.475.0371; www.beaurivage com) in Biloxi recently completed a convention-level renovation, including new carpeting, wall coverings, air walls and furniture. The property has 1,740 guest rooms and more than 50,000 square feet of meeting space.

  • Margaritaville Casino and Restaurant (228.267.7777; www.margaritavillebiloxi.com) opened in May in Biloxi.

  • Beauvoir, the Jefferson Davis Home and Presidential L ibrary (228.388.4400; www.beauvoir.org), will open this month in Biloxi with space for group gatherings of up to 200 people. Outside space at Beauvoir will accommodate groups of up to 500 people.

  • INFINIT Y Science Center (228.533.9025; www.visitinfinity.com) opened in Hancock County in April with event and catering services.

  • The Walter Anderson Museum of Art (228.872.3164; www.walterandersonmuseum.org) in Ocean Springs is undergoing renovations to create a larger lobby that is more welcoming to groups.

  • The Hattiesburg-based Lake Terrace Convention Center (601.268.3220; www.laketerrace.com) underwent this year, including adding new sound systems and replacing flooring.

Capital/River Region

  • The Art Garden at the Mississippi Museum of Art (601.960.1515; www.msmuseumart.org/ the-art-garden) opened last October. The 1.2 acre-park can be rented for private events.

  • The Lower Mississippi River Museum and Interpretive Site (601.638.9900; www.lmrm.org) opened in Vicksburg in August.

  • The Natchez-based Magnolia Bluffs Casino (888.505.5777; www.magnoliabluffscasino.com) is scheduled to open in December.

Delta

  • Trop Casino Greenville (800.878.1777; www.tropgreenville.com) recently unveiled a new casino floor and the new Big Waters Grille.

  • Greenville Mainstreet (662.378.3121; www.mainstreetgreenville.com) recently added a downtown green space designed to host outdoor festivals and events.

  • Greenville-based Harlow's Casino Resort and Hotel (866.524.5825; www.harlowscasino.com) is undergoing a series of improvements that will add new amenities, including a multipurpose event center that is scheduled to open by December.

The Hills

  • Newly opened in August, the 10,000-square-foot event center at the Elvis Presley Birthplace (662.841.1245; www.elvispresleybirthplace.com) in Tupelo offers accommodations for groups of up to 350 people. Features include a great hall, a meeting room, a theater and outdoor spaces.

  • The Courtyard by Marriott Tupelo (662.841.9960; www.marriott.com) completed a renovation earlier this year. All 93 guest rooms and all common spaces received enhancements.
