  • A former Radisson property was renovated and rebranded this fall as Adoba Eco Hotel Rapid City/Mt. Rushmore (605.348.8300; www.adobarapidcity.com). The LEED-certified property is committed to sustainability and offers 177 guest rooms and a 2,340-square-foot ballroom accommodating groups of up to 200.

  • Cambia Suites Rapid City (605.341.0101; www.cambriasuites.com) opened in May. The four-story building houses 111 suites, two meeting rooms and more than 1,400 square feet of conference space.

  • GoFunTrekTours (605.923.8386; www.geofuntrek.com) is a new option for inquisitive groups. The company specializes in active, eco-tours that offer an in-depth way to experience the Black Hills region and learn about local history, poetry, geology, paleontology and folklore.Day-long trip options include art & wine themes, moonlight Badlands excursions and technology tours.

  • Black Hills Adventure Golf (605.484.9217; www.blackhillsadventuregolf.com) opened this year, offering nine holes each with a different Black Hills theme. More holes are planned for the near future.

  • The new GunSlinger 7-D Interactive Theater at Rushmore Cave (605.255.4384; www.rushmorecave.com) offers visitors a multisensory interactive adventure show. Rushmore Cave is the closest cave to Mt. Rushmore and also offers group tours, zip-lining, gemstone mining and spelunking excursions.

  • The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Department’s Outdoor Campus West (605.223.7660; www.gfp.sd.gov) offers meeting and classroom space for conservation and outdoor organizations and 32 acres of scenic trails and picnic areas that visitors can explore. Four hands-on exhibits explore South Dakota’s ecosystems and there is a 4,600-gallon aquarium.
