New CVB program highlights local expertise
Travelers to Austin now have a new digital tool at their disposal. The Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau (Austin CVB) announces the launch of #TrueAustin, an innovative, interactive program where visitors can ask local experts questions about Austin and receive answers in a timely fashion.
If visitors are wondering where to go see the best of Austin’s live music, where to shop, or the hottest dining spots – they can count on our experts for an insider’s point of view. The Austin CVB recruited local bloggers and social media experts in the following areas:
• Formula 1/Motorsports/COTA
• Live Music
• Dining
• Shopping/Lifestyle
• Family Fun
• Events
• Relocation
Visitors can easily contact local “experts” by tagging questions with #TrueAustin on Twitter, posting an inquiry on our Facebook page at Visit Austin, Texas, or emailing trueaustin@austintexas.org.
An extension of the Bureau’s new campaign, “What You Hear is True,” #TrueAustin plays off the idea that visitors want to hear from locals on their Austin experiences.
“As a technologically savvy city and one that leads the way in social media, it made sense to develop an interactive and social platform for travelers,” said Bob Lander, president & CEO of the Austin CVB. “#TrueAustin not only answers visitor questions, but also provides them with an inside perspective on the best of Austin.”
