MILWAUKEE

  • Scheduled to open in April, the 90-room Brewhouse Inn & Suites (414.755.2141; www.gormanusa.com) will occupy two former Pabst Brewery complex buildings from the late 1800s in downtown Milwaukee. The $19 million redevelopment project will create a 132,000-square-foot extended-stay hotel and pub-style restaurant, incorporating original copper brew kettles and other authentic elements.

  • Targeting a March opening, the 200-room Marriott Milwaukee Hotel (www.marriott.com) will be a unique blend of preserved 19th century buildings and new construction. Located on Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Milwaukee, the nine-story property will have meeting and banquet space, a restaurant, a bar, underground parking for approximately 50 cars and a full range of hotel services and amenities.

  • The historic Loyalty Building, a 126-year-old architectural treasure in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, was converted to a 126-room Hilton Garden Inn (414.271.6611; www.hiltongardeninnmilwaukeedowntown.com) with meeting space, a restaurant, a bar and a fitness center. Opened last November, the hotel is using the Grain Exchange Room in the 137-year-old Mackie Building across the street for events.

  • In July, Potawatomi Bingo Casino (800.729.7244; www.paysbig.com) broke ground on a $150 million hotel adjacent to the casino in Milwaukee’s Menomonee Valley. Scheduled to open in summer 2014, the 20-story, 382-room upscale property will feature meeting rooms, a full-service spa and a casual restaurant.

  • The Comfort Suites Lake Country has been reflagged as the 94-suite Wildwood Lodge Lake Country (262.506.2000; www.thewildwoodlodge.com). Combining the warmth of a Northern lodge with state-of-the-art amenities, this all-suites property, with complimentary wireless Internet access, offers two meeting rooms with a total of 1,800 square feet of flexible space for gatherings of up to 72 people.
