Iconic San Francisco Lodging Sold for $120 Million

SAN FRANCISCO

The iconic Clift Hotel, located nearby San Francisco’s Union Square at 495 Geary Street, has reportedly been purchased by an affiliate of Hospitality Properties Trust for $120 million from Tarsadia Investments.

The 363-room property has approximately 2,400 square feet of meeting space, and is currently leased by Morgans Hotel Group, New York City.

The historic hotel was once hailed as the city’s first earthquake-proof and fireproof lodging, and was at one time the largest hotel in California.
