  • In early 2012, the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa (808.661.1234; www.maui.hyatt.com) finished an extensive $21 million transformation, culminating with a renovation of the lobby and atrium room corridors.

  • The newly redesigned Aloha Pavilion at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa (808.667.2525; www.westinmaui.com) offers two new meeting spaces and an indoor reception area with ocean views and waterfalls surrounded by palms and koi pond gardens. The indoor-outdoor feel lends itself to themed banquets, receptions and luau dinner shows for up to 700 people.

  • Makena Beach and Golf Resort (808.874.1111; www.makenaresortmaui.com) recently unveiled its new presidential oceanfront Alii Suite, which has an island motif and a wraparound balcony with ocean views.

  • Late last year, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea (808.874.8000; www.fourseasons.com/maui) rolled out a projection software that allows for projected scenes (such as Haleakala National Park, waterfalls, the ocean, vineyards, etc.) onto the walls of the ballroom, as well as a mobile app for meeting management, including eliminating the need for meeting planners to ship heavy conference books for attendees.

  • Spa Kea Lani at The Fairmont Kea Lani (808.875.2229; www.fairmont.com/kealani) recently opened its second outdoor spa cabana, which is surrounded by tropical landscaping and situated adjacent to the adult pool.
