HONOLULU
Mike Murray has announced his resignation from the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau (HVCB) as vice president of sales and marketing, Corporate Meetings & Incentives, effective March 1, 2013.
HVCB President John Monahan shared the following sentiments with the bureau’s staff regarding Murray’s impending departure:
“Mike joined the HVCB ohana [family] back in July of 1999 as the director of CMI. He was then promoted to vice president, sales and marketing in January of 2005. In the last 13 years, Mike has hired, trained, coached and motivated many to become top producers in their field. Under his leadership his team has regularly exceeded their goals and we endeavored to build the meetings and incentives business in Hawaii. His strong leadership skills and sense of ‘cheer’ will be missed. I want to thank Mike for his valued contributions and it is with warmest aloha that we wish Mike much success as he assumes his new role as the senior vice-president/chief operating officer for Waikiki Beach Activities.”
