We’ve been teasing you for a few months about all of the big changes we’re planning at Meetings Focus, and now, the wait is over!
This customized publication you’re reading is the result of much deliberation throughout all of the departments in the Meetings Focus empire—guided by the preferences of you, our reader.
Those of you who subscribe to multiple issues—Meetings Focus West, Meetings Focus South, Meetings Focus MidAmerica, Meetings Focus East—have told us that it would be much more logical to receive just one publication.
But as the “Destination Experts,” we wanted to keep our “focus” on bringing you information specific to each destination segment (East, Midwest, South and West) where you plan meetings. After all, if you only plan in, say, California, why would an Upstate New York destination story be of value to you in performing your job?
Also, does the focus of feature stories really stop at the border between destinations? Of course not. There are macro trends throughout North America that affect the industry and can’t be pigeon-holed into just, say, the West. We’ve put our feature stories on the continental stage now, but ones that truly require a geographic angle will still be given that priority in the relevant geographic section.
This new format will provide the necessary information to each meeting professional according to his or her preferences, meaning that we have a “national” section up front—which will include our international coverage in specific editions—and up to four destination sections following, depending on where you have told us you plan meetings. Up to 11 possible permutations, executed at the printer, mean that you only get the coverage you want, without wasting paper or your time with information you don’t need.
And, how about the redesign?!? We’ve upped the ante as far as the color and vibrancy of our publication, and we hope you all love the new features and splashy images.
Give it a read and let me know what you think, as we made this for you! mf
