According to the Atlantic City Convention & Visitor’s Authority (www.atlanticcitynj.com), the city is preparing to move into an untapped market and expand beyond its the standard gambling audience, with a planned 200,000-square-foot convention center at Harrah’s Resort.
Offering bay views and 100,000 square feet of meeting space spread across two floors, the new midsized conference center would complement existing hotel spaces and the current 500,000-square-foot Atlantic City Convention Center, which mainly hosts trade shows and large-scale conventions.
Casino Reinvestment Development Authority approved the project in late 2012 for $45 million in financing, Harrah’s hopes to bring corporate meetings and other midsized events to the new space.
