The Peoria Marriott Marquette Pere will open this spring with 286 guest rooms and more than 18,000 square feet of meeting space.
Aloft Chicago City Center is scheduled to open in June with 272 guest rooms in Chicago’s Loop business district.
Across the street from Grant Park, Hilton Chicago completed a $1.8 million renovaion of its two-story Conrad Suite. The property offers 50 meeting rooms and 230,000 square feet of function space.
Kansas
Marriott renovated the lobby and public spaces at the Courtyard Wichita at Old Town. The 128-room property offers 4,000 square feet of function space.
Michigan
The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island will open Sadie’s Ice Cream Parlor this season, continuing an 80-year partnership with the local Hudsonville ice cream company. The historic summer destination welcomes groups in the 16,000-square-foot Woodfill Conference Center.
Missouri
The Kansas City Zoo is scheduled to unveil Helzberg Penguin Plaza late this year. The $15 million project will add a 100,000-gallon cool pool and is part of the zoo’s Master Plan 2020. The zoo welcomes groups for evening events, meetings and picnics.
Wisconsin
Madison’s historic 189-room Edgewater Hotel is scheduled to reopen in summer 2014 after an extensive $98 million redevelopment.
The new 204-room Milwaukee Marriott Downtown will open this July, offering six meeting rooms totaling 9,000 square feet.
