For additional insights on ultra-luxurious offerings, Meetings Focus checked in with David Gabri, president and CEO of Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI).

“While extravagance is out, value is in, and luxury is back,” Gabri remarks. “Particularly for programs in 2013, there are some wonderful values at Four- and Five-Diamond hotels and resorts that can provide truly exceptional ‘over the top’ experiences.”

Examples from within the ALHI portfolio include having a group’s CEO push a button to prompt the famous fountains at the AAA Five Diamond Bellagio in Las Vegas, or having a group play golf on one of the world’s most-famed courses, where golf’s greatest players have competed, such as Pebble Beach, Pinehurst or The Greenbrier.

Gabri also mentioned that ALHI has a specialty segment dubbed the ALHI Level 5 Collection, which consists of ALHI’s 27 resort and hotel members that have earned the industry’s most-celebrated honors. Options here include The Resort at Pelican Hill in California, The Broadmoor in Colorado, The Peninsula Chicago, and The Cloister at Sea Island in Georgia.
