California Resort Back in Biz After Three-Year Closure

CARMEL, Calif.

Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club in Carmel Valley, Calif., has reopened following a three-year closure and $28 million renovation. The property has been revamped with a renewed focus on family-friendly amenities and group facilities.

Santa Monica-based Barry Design Associates has rejuvenated Quail Lodge, and all guestrooms, meeting and public spaces will debut a new look inspired by historic California ranch and Spanish colonial design elements. Interior color tones of warm golds and oranges aim to reflect the sun-drenched Carmel Valley, and each guestroom offers a private deck or patio that overlooks the lakes, golf course or gardens. Some guest suites also boast fireplaces, for enjoying a cool Carmel Valley evening.

Resort amenities at Quail Lodge include Edgar's, located in the Quail Golf Club, which offers lunch and dinner with California cuisine. The 18-hole Robert Muir Graves-designed golf course is now managed by KemperSports Management, which operates golf, resort and sports facilities in 26 states and internationally. A heated outdoor pool, bocce court, tennis courts and weight and cardio center round-out the resort's comprehensive fitness offerings. The on-site Land Rover Experience Driving School invites guests to climb behind the wheel and master a variety of off-road obstacles.

The new Quail Lodge will also reintroduce enhanced meeting facilities, with 6,500 square feet of flexible space including six conference rooms, banquet facilities for up to 200 guests, smaller breakout suites and colorful tents for garden parties, weddings and receptions, which can cater to 600 guests.
