Kansas African American Museum
Located in a historic church important to Wichita’s African-American community, this museum commemorates African-American history in the state, especially the first-ever sit-in by students at an all-white drugstore lunch counter.
Kansas Aviation Museum
At the original Wichita Municipal Airport, this facility boasts historic, built-in-Wichita aircraft, including a 727 and B-52, plus Boeing’s new Science, Math and History Learning Center. The atrium can be rented by groups for dinners or receptions.
Mid-America All-Indian Center
Featuring a 200-capacity kiva meeting area used for Native American gatherings, tribal powwows, wedding receptions and business meetings. The dramatic Keeper of the Plains, a 44-foot tall steel statue, symbolically thanks the Sun for returning each day, and firepots on the water that create spectacular nighttime displays.
Old Cowtown Museum
Wichita’s cattle-herding days come to life on over 24 scenic acres at this museum, which is also the home venue for the Diamond W Wranglers singing group.
