The former Westin Hotel was purchased in late 2012 and rebranded in January as the Omni Providence Hotel. The 564-room property is located in downtown Providence and boasts more than 22,000 square feet of event space. It is connected via indoor walkway to the Rhode Island Convention Center.
The Providence Biltmore is in the midst of an extensive upgrade to the entire property, including a substantial ballroom makeover and renovations to all 292 guest rooms, slated to wrap up in the first half of 2014. The property currently offers approximately 19,000 square feet of elegant event space divided among 18 meeting and banquet rooms.
A new boutique hotel is slated for an October opening on Fountain Street across from the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence. The 52-room hotel, with the name still to be decided at press time, will be set inside a historic 1912 structure and offer an eclectic mix of room types. All furnishing and fixtures will be custom-designed and manufactured within 200 miles of the property, and every guest room will boast original photography from local and national artists.
