The Hotel Indigo brand continues its growth, with plans to move into historic Oxford, Miss., in spring 2014.
The boutique Hotel Indigo Oxford will replace the former Downtown Inn and offer 125 guest rooms. A rooftop veranda will overlook the historic Courthouse Square, which is dotted with local restaurants, galleries and shops, and is a great spot for people watching in between meeting sessions.
Chamblee Hospitality Group expects to begin construction this summer following demolition of the old hotel, and hopes to complete the project in time for college football season at the nearby University of Mississippi the following year.
Architecture for the Hotel Indigo was designed to be reminiscent of turn-of-the-20th-century style, and an added buffer of green space surrounds the property.
The nearby Oxford Convention Center offers a 300-seat auditorium and 10,000 square feet of column-free event space. Other meeting facilities are available on the university campus.
