Mondrian Los Angeles, Spokane Convention Center and Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver update meeting and event spaces

Arizona
Tucson’s Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa updated its 487 guest rooms and 60,000 square feet of meeting space in a $30 million property renovation that began in 2012.

British Columbia
Vancouver’s Fairmont Waterfront revealed its new Gold Floor level, a “hotel within a hotel” with dedicated amenities including concierge service, a BMW car, boardroom and an outdoor deck. Convention facilities can accommodate groups of up to 600.

California
Quail Lodge & Gold Club in Carmel reopened following a $28 million renovation. Some of the 77 guest rooms offer fireplaces or private patios. The renovation enhanced the Quail Lodge meeting facilities, which include 6,500 square feet of flexible space and indoor facilities for up to 220.

Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown completed a $5.8 million renovation of public spaces, guest rooms and meeting rooms. The Marriott hotel offers 230 rooms and 4,500 square feet of meeting space.

The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina completed a $2 million redesign of its 348 Bay Tower guest rooms. The hotel has a total of more than 1,050 guest rooms and 140,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

Mondrian Los Angeles on the Sunset Strip unveiled three new public spaces, including pool cabanas and a lobby bar. Function spaces on the property include the penthouse, skybar, an outdoor living room and the Asia de Cuba restaurant.

Colorado
Denver’s Oxford Hotel completed a $1.5 million renovation of its event and dining spaces. The boutique property offers 10,000 square feet of function space and views of Union Station.

Leonora, the new restaurant at The Sebastian—Vail, is now available for group bookings and private events. Seating up to 70, and offering two private dining areas, the restaurant serves tapas and other fare and has a 1,000-bottle wine display in the center of the space. In the summer, groups can also book the adjoining Mountain View Terrace for receptions of up to 125 or an outdoor dinner. The Sebastian Vail offers 8,500 square feet of meeting and event space.

Oregon
Known for its Pinot Noir, the Wilamette Valley will welcome two new wine tasting rooms this summer, one at the 100-acre hilltop sustainable winery Sokol Blosser, scheduled to open in July, and another at Ponzi Vineyards, expected to open in June. Thirty minutes from Portland, Ponzi crafts its wine through a specially designed gravity-flow process that moves the wine through the four-level facility without the use of machinery. The eco-friendly building and the property can accommodate private events in both outdoor and indoor spaces, including the Vineyard Home, covered terraces and bocce ball courts.

Washington
A firm was selected to complete the $50 million expansion of the Spokane Convention Center and is expected to break ground this summer. The project will add 20,000 square feet of additional exhibit space, bringing the total to more than 100,000 square feet, and include improvements to the Centennial Trail and other public spaces adjacent to the center.
