Cowboys and whiskey may have been around for ages, but the new partnership between High West Distillery and Blue Sky Ranch is exciting news for Utah-bound groups.
The jointly owned High West Distillery at Blue Sky Ranch is expected to open by December, combining several of Utah’s cultural staples in one luxury resort destination.
High West plans to open a new 25,000-square-foot distillery and restaurant on the 3,300-acre Blue Sky Ranch property, which broke ground late last year in Wanship, Utah, 20 miles outside Park City. The 60-room ranch will also include a wellness center and four meeting and event rooms.
High West’s first location, a distillery and saloon in old town Park City, became the state’s first legal distillery since 1870 and the city’s only ski-in/sky-out gastro-saloon when it opened in 2007. Both locations will offer tours, tasting and group events. The downtown space can host private events for up to 175 people.
Signature cocktails and Western memorabilia can also be found High West’s other location at Salt Lake City International Airport’s Terminal 2.
Blue Sky Adventures currently offers team-building packages, “cowboy for a day” programs and an assortment of year-round activities. The company also operates several event venues, from 40-person yurts to a large outdoor arena for equestrian shows and special events.
