Off-site Venues in Reno Are Perfect for Groups Seeking Unique Fun

Offering activities that range from bull riding to bowling, off-site venues in the “Biggest Little City” are sure to please groups looking for a truly one-of-a-kind way to spend time together when meetings adjourn.

  • The National Bowling Stadium is a 363,000-square-foot space, easily identified in the Reno skyline by the glittering geodesic dome that sits atop the building.

With 78 lanes and stadium seating, the venue can accommodate up to 1,500 guests, and there is space for receptions in the four-story lobby. In February, 10 additional lanes were added on the first floor, which can be used as a private party facility for up to 150 people.

If it wasn’t already clear that Reno loves bowling and goes to great lengths to accommodate groups, when the city hosted the US Bowling Congress’ Open Championship tournament, it shut down Virginia Street, the main drag, and built four bowling lanes and a temporary stadium to hold the competitions.
  • As its name implies, the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center is home to 19 barns, a large dirt-floor arena and a washing area for hoses, but in addition to exclusive rodeos for groups, the versatile venue encompasses 43 acres of land and also includes a 20,000-square-foot, climate-controlled exhibition hall and has hosted everything from monster truck rallies to sporting events and meetings.

  • Located in the former Riverside Hotel building, which was saved from demotion in 2000 and fully renovated, the River Room offers casual cuisine in a welcoming setting. Part of the historic property was turned into a live-work space for local artists, and the Wild River Grille expanded into the space, adding the River Room, which serves small plates and offers skyline views. Group function options includes an outdoor patio with space for up to 150 and a private dining room seating up to 75. Wild River Grille hosts weekly live music sessions with Nevada artists.
