The Comfort of a Yellowstone cabin

West Yellowstone is breaking trail into the latest adventure-travel trend: cabineering.

A step up from “glamping,” which requires sleeping in a tent, but more adventurous than standard hotel accommodations,semi-rustic cabins can be fun destinations for executive retreats or small groups looking to get in touch with nature.

Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone opened this month, minutes from the Old Faithful geyser and the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The first new lodging option in the area since 2007, the 50 cabins are grouped in small clusters and come in a variety of sizes.

The nearest large meeting space is the 10,000-square-foot conference center at the Holiday Inn West Yellowstone, located a few blocks away and also operated by Delaware North Company.
