Rittenhouse Hotel adds new bar, Hilton Short Hills revamps dining, Renaissance Westchester remodels and other eastern meetings news

Massachusetts
The Revere Hotel Boston Common unveiled a new rooftop venue, Rooftop @ Revere. Open to the public and bookable for private events, the 16,000-square-foot deck with a bar and pool complements the property’s existing 35,000 square feet of function space, which accommodates everything from screenings to 800-person galas in the versatile Space57.

New Jersey
The 308-room Hilton Short Hills near Morristown reopened its redesigned Dining Room restaurant and is celebrating the property’s 25th anniversary. The 120-seat restaurant serves New American cuisine, including line-caught fish from the East Coast. Meeting spaces on the property include a 600-person ballroom and spaces for small groups.

New York
Renaissance Westchester in White Plains completed a six-month, $13 million renovation. The 347-room property added new design elements, updated guest rooms and added a 2,080-square-foot ballroom and meeting room, bringing the meeting space total to more than 20,000 square feet.

Virgin Hotels announced plans for a New York City hotel on Broadway, opening in 2016. The hotel is expected to have 300 guest rooms and meeting space. Virgin properties are also in development in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and other top-tier cities. The company’s first hotel is scheduled to open in mid-2014 in Chicago.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Binghamton, formerly the Riverwalk Hotel and Conference Center, reopened following a two-year renovation and repair of damage caused by Tropical Storm Sandy. The 207-room hotel has 32,000 square feet of conference space, including 17 breakout rooms, an outdoor garden terrace and a 50-person amphitheater-style theater. The DoubleTree is 10 miles from Greater Binghamton Airport.

Pennsylvania
The 116-room Rittenhouse Hotel, an independent property in Philadelphia’s historic Rittenhouse Square, opened the new Library Bar and added an afternoon tea service at its Mary Cassatt Tea Room as part of the hotel’s $10 million renovation project. The Rittenhouse offers 8,470 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom, tea room and garden.
