MONTANA
Billings
- The Northern Hotel, a member of Summit Hotels & Resorts, opened in March, marking the rebirth of the original Northern Hotel, which first opened in 1904. The 160-room property is located in the heart of Billings. Its 12,000 square feet of meeting space can accommodate groups of up to 700, with spaces that include a 7,000-square-foot ballroom.
Big Sky
- The 320 Guest Ranch opened a new conference and event center on the 115-year-old property in February. The new center features two large divisible meeting rooms, plus prefunction space and a bridal salon for use by wedding guests.
Helena
- The Best Western Premier Helena Great Northern Hotel recently made improvements to its 100 guest rooms, including updated carpets and new amenities, and its lobby area. The hotel also added a sundry shop and expanded its 24-hour fitness center. Now celebrating its 10th year, the property offers convention and meeting space that can host groups of up to 500.
Greenough
- The Resort at Paw’s Up opened its fifth and most-luxurious campsite in June, the appropriately dubbed Cliffside Camp. The new offering features a dining facility and lounge, plus six luxurious safari-style tented accommodations ranging from 605 to 977 square feet—each nestled in groves of pine trees. Four tents feature two bedrooms, with a king bed in one and two twin beds in the other. The remaining two tents are designated as “honeymoon” tents and feature a copper tub at the foot of a king bed.
WYOMING
Cheyenne
- Cheyenne will soon be home to a new TownePlace Suites by Marriott. Construction has begun on the new 88-unit property on West Lincoln Way, with an opening projected for early 2014. The extended-stay property will feature a fitness center, business meeting room, indoor pool and complimentary continental breakfast.
- Construction on a 73-room Comfort Inn and Suites is under way with a scheduled opening set for late 2013. The hotel will feature an indoor pool, hot tub and workout room, plus a fresh design that will become common in newly built Comfort Inns.
Jackson Hole
- Snow King Resort recently completed a $16 million upgrade that revamped its guest rooms, meeting space, exterior, public space, spa and salon. The complete overhaul also included the addition of a year-round activity center, a business center and a fitness room.
- The Wyoming Inn recently completed a $4.5 million renovation that included the redesign of all guest rooms. Changes were also made to the exterior, and the boardroom and fitness room were remodeled. The breakfast restaurant was also renovated and expanded and now features a menu that focuses on fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients.
Laramie
- The University of Wyoming Conference Center, connected to the 135-room Hilton Garden Inn, celebrated its fifth anniversary earlier this year and just debuted its new Complete Meeting Packages. These all-inclusive event solutions aim to make planning easier, and offer simple options with numerous amenities.
